Extra curricular activities

We value extra-curricular activities and recognise them as an excellent way of promoting community cohesion, developing skills and self-confidence and building friendships.

We offer a number of varied extra-curricular activities for the children from the different age groups, and try to engage children from all groups.

Friday Lunch Clubs:

Every Friday, Year Six Lunch Leaders run a variety of clubs for the other pupils in the school. They independently plan and organise the clubs, which are thoroughly enjoyed by other pupils.

Clubs are varied, changing every half term.  The children have recently enjoyed:

  • Basketball
  • Table Tennis
  • Art
  • Football
  • Construction
  • Circle Time
  • Music
  • Parachute

After School Clubs:

Additional extra-curricular sporting activities are organised at intervals throughout the year, and are led by members of staff in addition to external coaches.  These include football, hockey, athletics and even golf!

Judo is a well attended club, run by an ex-pupil - Judo Nathan - every Monday after school.

We work in partnership with our feeder secondary school, Cranbourne, and as part of this, we are fortunate in that Mr Kimber runs an after school club every Tuesday after school, The focus of his club is always PE, but it may vary from multi-skills to tennis.

We are also delighted to be able to offer Taiko Drumming as an after school music club, which is run by Mr Jones, a specialist music teacher from the Hampshire Music Service.

Competitions and Tournaments:

When it is possible, we try to arrange inter-school competitions, which give our children the opportunity to compete against each other and against other schools.  We are always looking out for parent helpers to help us with transport - look out for newsletters and then let us know if you would like to volunteer.
